EOC Week 5: Lawyers Looking For Fame

300 words and 2 quotes

"Sometimes the desire to be famous, to feed ones ego, can get the better of you. And if you are a lawyer, that may hurt you." Dave Lorenzo

Some Lawyers want to help people and they do it as best as they can, others want to be famous and get really big rich clients, and do tons of important cases so they can make a name for themselves and live a high life. They go on T.V. saying they’re for the working man and they feel your pain when your in an accident or in some kind of trouble, but they only want your money so they can buy more expensive things and get a bigger office. Sometimes people only know the lawyer by what they see on T.V. and they’ll go to them for help thinking that they’ll help but they don’t, they’re just a name and a face. Some have really high rates that are impossible to pay off in a short amount of time and some have other fees attached saying that they need this money to get the job done, when they really don’t. They even attach hidden fees that aren’t known until the bill comes. A friend of mine was pregnant and she fell in a store and hurt her back. The ground was wet and there was no wet floor sign; because she was pregnant she couldn’t see the ground. She had to get a lawyer to deal with the stores lawyers and then they tried to rack up the money by saying they needed more money to do their job. She ended up changed lawyers because the one she hired originally never did anything and almost let the store get away with the problem. She needed help because of the stores mistake she was in pain and the lawyer didn’t care, he just wanted money and wasn’t bothering to do his job. Greed takes a hold of people and it’s hard to bounce back from it.

"In the legal world there's a hot lawyer of the moment, just like there is a hot actor of the moment." Pat Lalama
