Week 7: Final Project Pitch

Honeysuckle
Spring - Orange Honeysuckle
Summer - Trumpet Honeysuckle
Fall - Bluevelvet Honeysuckle
Winter – Winter “Sweet Breath of Spring” Honeysuckle

Honeysuckle is a savory tasting natural brew made with the finest natural plants and flowers of America. The original tasting brew has a succulent honey flavor. There’s the straight Honeysuckle brew, then there’s the seasonal flavored brews for each season of the year. There’s Orange Honeysuckle for the gentle Spring, the Trumpet Honeysuckle for those long breezy Summer months, Bluevelvet Honeysuckle for the lounging Fall and the Piece de resistance, the “Sweet Breath of Spring” Winter Honeysuckle for the blustery Winter season.

My main focus is Winter “Sweet Breath of Spring” Honesysuckle. Winter Honeysuckle is a rich tasting slightly honey flavored brew. With its crisp and enticing aroma and the rich honey color, this isn't the average beer. This is an extraordinary and delicious tasting brew. It's not for the average person, its exclusive. You’ll find it in liquor stores where only the finest brews are sold.

Week 6 EOC: me times 3

Personal care products Suave deodorant, Curious perfume, and Cherry Blossom lotion.

Suave deodorant: I like it because it works really well for my body type and it has a fresh scent. its inexpensive and still gets the job done.
The market group for this product I believe is a range from teen girls to young adult women who either works or lives a semi active lifestyle.

"Through market segmentation, companies divide large, heterogeneous markets into smaller segments that can be reached more efficiently and effectively with products and services that match their unique needs."  - Page 177

Curious perfume: I like the smell and how long it lasts.
I believe the marketing range for this product is teen girls who want to impress the guys at school or go out and party and smell attractive and inciting.

Some companies use age and life-cycle segmentation, offering different products or using different marketing approaches for different age and life-cycle groups.  - Page  178

Cherry Blossom lotion: I like the smell of the lotion and how it feels on my skin. There isn't a sticky residue or any clumps. it smooths onto my skin and leaves my skin feeling fresh.
The target market for this product I believe is for teen girls.

Week 5: EOC Health Care reform

On September 23, 2010 new reforms under the Affordable Care Act begin to bring to an end some of the worst abuses of the insurance industry. These reforms will give Americans new rights and benefits.
Some of the new benefits include: More kids will be able to get health coverage, limitations on care and patients will be able to access more services without cost-sharing. These new reforms will apply to all new health plans and to plans that are renewed. Many new benefits have already happened. Rebate checks for seniors have been sent out for those in the Medicare donut hole and tax credits for small business. More rights will be starting now and will continue to be put into effect through 2014.

Week 4 EOC: Advertising is based on happiness

Happiness- After my experience I was offered a chance to get a brand new phone that had just come out. It was called the G1. It was a Google phone. I was excited to have a new phone and I was hoping it would work properly and not give me any problems. I got the new phone and I took some time getting used to it. It was completely different to what I was used to. It was a touch screen, there were apps I could buy and interactive games I could play. There were some of the same apps that my Sidekick could do to such as the calculator and the calendar but other than that it was all new. I never had a problem with my G1. I never had to call in to the customer service for any problem and I had that phone for a year and a half before I got a new one. I loved the G1 and was very happy with it the entire time I had it.

Dissidence- I bought a cell phone a few years ago that I had wanted for a long time. It was a sidekick. It wasn’t the exact sidekick that I had wanted but it was a sidekick and I had wanted one for a while. I liked having one and I liked telling people I had one. There was a problem though, it didn’t work properly. There was a hardware problem and every time I would set it down it was shut off. Sometimes there were times when it wouldn’t turn on at first and it would take forever to turn on. I had called T-Mobile and they had sent me several replacements but I still seemed to have the same problem. Then I was told that there was a technical problem with my particular brand of Sidekick and there was a total recall of the phone. Needless to say I ended up getting a completely different phone eventually after a year of dealing with problems. Even though I had wanted it really bad it probably wasn't a good decision to buy it just for that reason. I should have looked into the technical aspect of it first.

Week 3 EOC: Internet privacy vs market research

Internet privacy advocates object to cookies for a wide variety of reasons. Before the upgrades of popular browsers like Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer, cookies were placed anonymously and without alerting the user. Next, information from the cookie was transmitted to the website, again without the user's knowledge

The internet uses cookies for a wide variety of uses. Before upgrades of browsers that control the uses of cookies, the cookies were placed on the computer without alerting the user. Information was also transmitted from the cookie back to the website in the same manner. Even if there were websites that warned the used of cookies it wasn’t clear where they were coming from and in websites where there were many cookies it was hard to decipher them all.

"the cookie is stored in the user's computer without her consent or knowledge" Mayer-Schonberger

"who do online research on controversial areas such as abortion, birth control, capital punishment, or gun control might find themselves subjected to harassment from special-interest groups" Dyrli

OPS "gives users control over their Personal Profile and the ability to manage which personal information gets disclosed or withheld from a particular Internet sites. As a result, individuals can respond to requests from Internet sites for personal information with all, some or none of the requested data." Netscape Press Release, May 27, 1997

EOC Week 1: Excellent customer service

“We decided if we can put all the money possible into our customer service, word of mouth will work in our favor.” Aaron Magness, Marketing and Introduction Page 3. I once bought a CD from a store, brand new and the case was never opened. I went home and when I opened the case I found that the CD was broken, there was a crack in the CD. I called the store and the person I talked to was very nice. She said that I could call the company who made the CD or I could come into the store within the next week and they could take care of the problem for me. I went to the store a few days later, but I forgot my receipt. When I got to the counter the woman said it was no problem, they just used my phone number to see the time I made the purchase because I used a card. They told me that I could either get a refund of the amount for the CD or I could make an exchange. I still wanted the CD so I said I would make an exchange. They had someone bring me a replacement CD and they rang it up and I was free to go. They were helpful, understanding and responsible. I had no problems with any of the people I dealt with and no managers had to be called. It was a great experience. I would definitely go back there again and again because of the way they handled that situation. I’ve told several people of my experience and they were impressed that I had no problems, even without my receipt.

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

I am an up and coming professional photographer.  I love to capture emotion and interest in a photograph. Photography has been a hobby and a passion for me since I was younger. Every new photograph brings something new.  Whether I’m outdoors or indoors there is a moment to capture in time.  Being in nature is one of my favorite past times and I enjoy shooting in outdoor locations. I like to manipulate the natural light and properly use the natural landscapes around me to make a photograph that means something to me and that shows the beauty of life around us that sometimes is unappreciated. I like to let the land speak to me and let that guide me in what direction I go when shooting. Taking a photograph isn’t as easy as simply pushing a button. There’s skill involved and I love to learn new ways on how to use my skills and better myself as a photographer. Each photo has a story, or a point of view. Sometimes the hidden meaning is the main focal point and you have to read into the photograph itself to determine what you think the photo is supposed to mean. Other times there isn’t a meaning it was simply a moment captured in time at the right moment that leaves a mark.
